Why do I create pet portraits?
The short answer is that I love animals. Currently I share my life with 4 dogs, 2 rabbits and 1 cat.
However, beyond that my portraits aim to celebrate that special bond we have with our pets. They hold a treasured place in our families and my pet portraits are an expression of this love.
Over the years I attended a variety of art classes working with watercolours, oils and acrylics. Here, I realised that I would pop in an animal if I could.
This led to various other workshops and classes to learn more about depicting animals in various mediums. The journey has been fascinating!
I have participated in SALA (South Australia Living Artists) events since 2014, as well as entries in Community Art Exhibitions, Rotary Art Shows and several solo exhibitions.
A particular honour was being awarded the People’s Choice award for my entry in the Pastel Artists of SA exhibition in McLaren Vale.
